| Update March 20th, 2020 Dear Friends, Goodwill Houston has been proudly serving greater Houston for the last 75 years. Part of our responsibility, as a non-profit and social enterprise, is to make the health and safety of those around us our top priority. Our hope was to continue operating through the COVID-19 outbreak. However, it has become clear that keeping our stores, and Job Connection Centers open during this time would only serve to worsen the public health crisis and increase the spread of the virus. We’ve made the difficult decision, as of this afternoon of Friday, March 20th, all Goodwill Houston stores and Job Connection Centers will be temporarily closed to the public until further notice. We will keep our donation centers open, with heightened health, sanitation, and social distancing practices. We do this to serve you and to give you a place to take items when you inevitably find the time to do some cleaning while at home. To those enrolled in our programs, we will be reaching out to you soon about what happens next and how we can best continue to serve you during this time. Finally, to our shoppers, donors, friends, and everyone we serve, the greater Houston community is no stranger to hardship but we have always come together to lift each other up. As the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak continues, we are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of both our Goodwill Houston team and those we serve. As a result, effective March 18, 2020, our Job Connection Centers will temporarily close to visitors.
However, we will continue to provide services through our Virtual Services Job Connection Center.
